Former religious affairs minister appears before KPK

Hello reader,

A day after his pretrial motion was denied, former religious affairs minister Yaqut Cholol Qoumas today appeared for questioning by the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) for his alleged role in a hajj quota corruption case. At the time of this publication, hundreds of Nahdlatul Ulama (NU) security wing personnel gathered outside KPK HQ, seemingly unhappy about what they describe to be an attempt at criminalizing their brethren.

Also in this edition: two Pertamina oil tankers have exited the Middle East conflict zone, gruesome murder cases grip the country, and the reasons behind the so-called online motorcycle taxi lately.

Cheers,

Andra
