Hello reader,

As much as we Indonesians like to take a bit of pride in QRIS, it’s not exactly the most practical of digital payment systems.

Lucky for us, QRIS has entered a new phase of its development with the official launch of the Tap In & Out feature, which works exactly how it sounds like. Yes, that means no more scanning QR codes to pay.

The feature has launched in Jakarta, obviously, but do expect this to be rolled out nationwide in the months and years ahead. More on the story below.
