Rupiah weak, IHSG strong | January 14, 2026

Hello reader,

Two important economic indicators saw different fortunes today, with one reaching another all-time high and surpassing a resistance level, while the other slumping to one of its lowest rates in years. Either way, one might say this is a good time to get active in the stock exchange and foreign currency exchange (*not economic advice).

In other news, VP Gibran’s Papua trip was cut short due to security concerns, 2025 was horrible in terms of layoffs, and South Jakarta’s derelict monorail pillars are finally being taken down after 22 years.
