Rally after rally | August 28, 2025

Hello reader,

We’re seeing more protests in Jakarta and beyond, most of which are centering on the public’s deep displeasure of the country’s lawmakers.

In Jakarta, the day began with a largely peaceful rally by labour groups, but chaos ensued in the afternoon as student protesters clashed with police. Here’s hoping everybody stays safe.
