Constitutional Court strikes down 190-year land rights scheme

Hello reader,

The new capital city Nusantara is a special project (well, perhaps not so much anymore), but that doesn’t mean it can violate the Constitution.

Specifically, the Constitutional Court has struck down a 190-year land rights scheme in the law for Nusantara’s creation. Instead, it must follow the same timeframe as every other piece of land in the country. More on this just below.
