While it may seem like Prabowo’s administration hadn’t wanted to touch Nusantara with a 10-foot pole, they haven’t completely discarded it as the site of the country’s next political capital city.

The president has signed a regulation that will officially make Nusantara Indonesia’s capital city in 2028. That is perhaps a more realistic target, unlike the original plan to relocate the central government there by 2024.
