Former education minister facing up to 27 years in prison

Hello readers,

Welcome back from the extended break!

While I certainly enjoyed the time off, I do regret having missed out on the coverage of a couple of major stories in recent days. The particular highlight is prosecutors demanding up to 27 years for Nadiem Makarim in his corruption trial, so more on that just after the jump.

Also, what’s the harm in the rupiah sliding to historic lows against the US dollar? Some of us don’t even use the foreign currency, argued our president. What that logic is flawed, according to critics.

Cheers,

Andra
