Government's budget cuts still contentious

Hello reader,

If one were to play devil’s advocate for the government, we’d argue that their massive budget cuts represent an act of tough love (but really, it’s all to do with making up for huge, arguably unnecessary outlays from the past and present).

All we can ask for at this point is some degree of sensibility. Like, did they really have to press on with a retreat for 500 or so newly-elected regional leaders later this month? Yes they do, apparently, and you can find out their justification below.
