DPR passes new criminal procedure code law

Hello reader,

Parliament has passed the controversial revision to the criminal procedure law (KUHAP), which they say introduces positive major reforms but which critics say threatens civil liberties.

We saw this play out in similar controversial fashion during the passing of the revised criminal code (KUHP) in 2022. Next year, both laws will come into effect.
