Hello reader,

I’m sure I’m not alone in that I have not been this concerned for Indonesia. Perhaps those who were old enough to remember 1998 know this feeling very well.

As this email goes out to you, thousands of civilians are still protesting in Jakarta and other major cities, demanding an end to the erosion of Indonesian democracy. Let’s hope everybody stays safe.
