Former president ready to give all to son's party

Hello reader,

While he never really left politics, Joko Widodo recently made what could be considered the strongest declaration yet of a return to active politics when he announced himself as a political vehicle of the Indonesian Solidarity Party (PSI).

That is, of course, the party that is chaired by his other son who’s not the vice president of the country. It’s also the party that has long been rumored to be courting Jokowi for the chairman role, or at least an executive advisor role. More on that just below.

Also, Indonesia is close to signing negotiated tariffs with the US (one wonders if this has anything to do with joining a certain US-initiated peacekeeping initiative), there’s a bit of Indonesia in the newly-released Epstein files, and IHSG keeps sliding.
