Gov't promises resolution to delayed Village Fund

Hello reader,

Rural rules. The government says it will disburse the long-delayed Village Fund amid pressure from thousands of village heads, who descended upon Jakarta today demanding their rights.

In other news, the South Aceh regent Prabowo likened to a deserter has been suspended for at least three months for leaving the country during the deadly floods and landslides in Sumatra. More tragedy: at least 17 people were killed when an office building in Jakarta engulfed in flames today.
