And so ends the most scandalous political soap opera episode of the year (at least for now).

Authorities have ruled that Ridwan Kamil is not the biological father of a child alleged to be his by model/influencer Lisa Mariana. While Lisa may yet challenge the outcome, it’s safe to assume that Ridwan’s political career is already in the dumps. Between this and last year’s Jakarta gubernatorial election defeat, the man who was once tipped to be president one day will count himself lucky if he ever finds himself back in the conversation.
