New developments in major corruption cases linked to previous cabinet

In the spotlight today are two cases involving ministers in former president Joko Widodo’s cabinet: Yaqut Cholil Qoumas and Nadiem Makarim.

Yaqut has been formally charged in a corruption case involving hajj quota during his time leading the Religious Affairs Ministry, while former education minister Nadiem took to social media to plead his innocence in the ongoing Chromebook procurement trial.
