Dozens killed in W. Java landslide | January 26, 2026

Another hydrometeorological disaster struck, this time involving a major landslide that buried at least 30 houses in a village in West Java over the weekend. As of this publication, dozens of residents have been confirmed dead amid fears that the death toll will continue to climb.

As in recent weeks, heavy rain continues to be a fixture throughout Indonesia, including in Jakarta and its satellite cities. Stay safe wherever you are.
