Hello reader,

Living in the city, cash has become something I’ve taken for granted. Thanks to the advancements of digital payments in recent years (QRIS rules!), I rarely, if ever, carry any physical forms of money.

There may be an increasing number of people like me in Indonesia, but, for various reasons, not everybody is ready to make the jump to a completely cashless society.

A recent viral incident is serving as a reminder for that, and why cash is still needed even in 2025 and beyond. Read on for more.
