Hello reader,

Tragedy has swept Bali, which is seeing its worst floods in a decade. The disaster has reportedly claimed two lives and led to the displacement of hundreds of residents, with extreme weather and rapid development on the island touted as possible causes.

If any of you are reading this from Bali, I hope you’ve stayed out of harm’s way and will continue to be safe. Here’s to the island making a full recovery.
