Exhibition pulled over Jokowi-like paintings

Hello reader,

Indonesia’s not exactly the bastion of freedom of artistic expression, yet the postponement of an exhibition at the National Gallery is still highly concerning.

While the gallery has not admitted as much, it’s quite clear that the postponement had to do with less-than-flattering paintings of former President Joko Widodo by renowned artist Yos Suprapto.
