MK eliminates nomination threshold

Hello reader,

In case you were thinking about it, you can theoretically run for president or vice president in 2029, as the Constitutional Court (MK) just removed the presidential threshold. Well, you’d need to be a citizen and of a certain age (though that last rule is quite malleable, as we saw in 2024).

In all seriousness, this is quite huge. I personally can’t wait to see a chaotic 2029 presidential election where parties nominate anybody who’s anybody as they vie for relevance.

In the meantime, the weekend awaits. Have a great one!

Cheers,

Andra
