Hello reader,

Welcome back to the first edition of Nusantara Notes after the end of the long Nyepi/Eid al-Fitr break. To mark the latter occasion, a heartfelt “mohon maaf lahir dan batin” from me to you.

Some people did not mark the former occasion with respect, as you’ll see in one story below. Elsewhere, we’ve got more MBG drama, political maneuvers, an important update regarding our tax returns, and a car plunging into an iconic pool. Yep, we’re back indeed.
