A pause, not a goodbye

When I started Nusantara Notes a little over two years ago, the goal was simple: to make sense of Indonesia's biggest stories in a way that was clear, concise, and worth your time.

It was a shot in the dark that became the bright point of my days. I watched this project – nay, baby – blossom into one of the most rewarding I’ve ever worked on. Every subscriber, every reply, every recommendation to a friend helped make it what it is.

Today, though, I need to press pause.

For personal reasons, I can no longer give Nusantara Notes the attention and energy it deserves. And if there's one thing I've always believed, it's that readers deserve my best work, not whatever I can squeeze in between other commitments. Continuing without being able to fully commit wouldn't be fair to you.

So, for now, Nusantara Notes is going on hiatus. But this is by no means a goodbye.

Indonesia will keep producing stories worth following (how can it not? We’re full of wondrous characters), and I suspect I'll keep finding reasons to write about them. Whether Nusantara Notes returns in its current form, evolves into something new, appears on a different platform, or takes a completely unexpected shape, I wouldn't be surprised if our paths cross again.

Until then, thank you for reading, for subscribing, and for allowing me into your inbox. In a world overflowing with information, the fact that you chose to spend a few minutes with Nusantara Notes every day has never been something I took for granted.

Sampai jumpa!

Cheers,

Andra
